Every animation, illustration and sound was created bespoke for the exhibition with stories ranging from existing projects and company values to interaction design and environmental storytelling. The mural itself allowed us to weave all of this into a single landscape, creating a coherent experience with an abundance of playful, explorable content.
Screen printed with conductive ink and using concealed projectors, we created a simple yet satisfying interface that any number of people could interact with at once. The tactile nature of the wooden surface and the ‘shonky’ art direction of the illustrations allowed us to turn a tech-heavy installation into a playful and inviting environment.
This project went on to be exhibited at Google’s exclusive Zeitgeist conference and was shortlisted for ‘Digital installation’ at the Design Week Awards.
Special mention to Robert Rowley, Justas Motuzas, Inga Galvanauskaite, Elly Bowness and Ross Phillips.
